Dead mans switch Book Review
Dead Man’s Switch is a sci-fi type book that I have
read, which is very interesting but a little confusing. The author of this book
is Sigmund Brouwer. This book is fiction. I believe that this would be suitable
for ages 12 and up as it has some difficult words to understand.
This book has a very basic story line. William King’s mom
has been murdered in the low populated island of McNeil. One day William was
with his dad when they heard knocking on the door, it was the swat team. They
took away his father while William hid. The father was taken away. The computer
was open so William checked it and there was an email from the murderer saying
that he contacted the police and told them that the father had murdered a lot
of people. The father was taken to a security prison for no reason! The son
went on a long journey with his friend Blake to rescue him. I think the
conflict of the story is both man V.S man and man V.S society. It is man vs man
because of the father with the murderer since he is fighting over who did the
wrong thing. Why society is because the police getting him and him not doing
anything to get into jail.
I think the climax is when the Swat got the father. The
rising action is probably when the mother gets killed. The resolution is when
the father was saved and when the murderer gets caught. This story I think
would be suitable for ages 12 and up, as it also gets really confusing.
Dear Abdel,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your book review. Who is the Protagonist and could you tell me a bit more about him.
Sincerely,
Lucas Sezlik

Dear Abdel,
ReplyDeleteI really savoured reading your book review. Can you please tell me a bit more about when the murderer emailed the police to report him? Can you tell me why the murderer did that? Also I'd like to know where the island is (for example island in the Atlantic).
Thanks,
Jordy Auger
Dear Abdel,
ReplyDeleteYour review was very good, and very clear. But I do have one question. Can you describe the setting a little more thoroughly? The time and place, country as well. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Kyle M.
Dear Abdel,
ReplyDeleteReally good review! I was wondering about in which ways the book was confusing to you as you mentioned in the first paragraph?
Thanks,
Adam
Dear Abdel,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your book review very much, and this review had interested me in this book. I did happen to gather some questions from your review about the book. You had mentioned that the murderer had killed his mom and the swat team had come. Did the swat team have anything to do with the murder by any chance? As well as, how did the child manage to hide from the police and how did he live without any parents to support him?
Sincerely,
Jai S. R.
