We Are All Made of Molecules; by Susin Nielsen is a realistic
fiction novel times at teenagers and teaches them that they should always be
vigilant about what their doing with their life.
There are two main
characters in the story, Stewart and Ashley. Stewart’s mother dies before the
start of the story and he and his dad cannot get over it. Ashley’s dad divorces
her mom because he realizes he’s gay. Stewart’s dad, Paul, starts dating
Ashley’s mom, Caroline and Stewart and Paul move in with them. Stewart is
gifted but has no social mind. Ashley, on the other hand is popular, but has
horrible grades. What happens when Stewart starts ruining Ashley’s popularity,
and maybe her love life too?
The conflict/central
idea is between Stewart, Ashley and family against people who can hurt,
physically, mentally, and online. People like Jared who are known troublemakers
that can make future careers and general life of others horrible. Jared almost
managed something like that but Stewart saved him. We Are All Made of
Molecules manages to create a great conflict which isn't solved because it
may happen again, just delayed until we finally stop it.
I think We Are All Made of Molecules
is a great book, but for mature readers and it recreates a real life conflict
that could occur to anyone. The conflict is very well written with some great
characters and characteristics added to it. The author’s purpose of writing
this book has been fully achieved, and I, personally, think it was a great
book. People should be warned about what can happen and how we can stop the
conflict piece by piece. Overall, We Are All Made of Molecules was a
great book, with lively conflicts, cool characters, great purpose and a
enjoyable, fun, storyline.
Dear Arnav,
ReplyDeleteThis book seems very interesting and I really enjoyed your review. In your second paragraph you mentioned Jared, but didn't really explain who he was or his role in the story. could you explain to me his characteristics and role in the story?
Thank You, Emma
Dear Emma,
DeleteJared is the main antagonist and he is the one who almost destroyed Ashley's life. During the book, Jared and Ashley start dating and have some eventful times together. Jared is (sort of like) the most popular boy in their school and he transferred from a private school. Everyone thinks he's the best, but, he actually was kicked out of the private school and now in their school, is causing havoc as well.
Sincerely,
Arnav
Dear Arnav,
ReplyDeleteI think you did a really good job describing the main characters really well. You really made me want to read the book. I was just wondering about where the story takes place and at what point in time. It would be great if you could elaborate more on the setting, thank you.

Dear Arnav,
ReplyDeleteWe Are All Made of Molecules looks like a very interesting book. You explained the story line very clearly. i have just a couple of questions to ask you. How does Ashley's dad find out that his wife was gay, and what does Jared do to Ashley's family to make their lives horrible?
Thanks,
Elena
Dear Arnav,
ReplyDeleteI really loved you book review. I was just wondering how Ashley reacts when she finds out that her dad is gay? Why do you think she reacts this way and how do you think Ashley's dad was felling when he admitted that he was gay to the family?
Sincerely,
Sasha Jande

Dear Arnav,
ReplyDeleteYour book review was excellent, and after reading it, I would like to read We Are All Made of Molecules. You talk about Stewart and Ashley and their lives at school and how they differ. Could you please elaborate more on how old they are, what kind of school they go to and the environment they are in on a daily basis? Lastly, what sort of impact do the two students have on each other inside and outside of school?
Thanks,
Olivia
