Ink Me, by Richard Scimiger, is a fictional novel.
Ink Me, by Richard Scimiger is about a boy who was
sent to do a task that his dead grand-father left for him, he was supposed to
get a tattoo. His tattoo later on led him to a local gang who got him involved
in pretty shady and dangerous gang related issues.
Ink Me’s conflict is him vs. himself. He is constantly
fighting against him self, thinking he is doing the right thing and his gang is
the good guys. Bunny is given tough decisions throughout the book that he
thinks are good things to do and he thinks his decision are the right ones, he
is shown trying to do what is right throughout the book but it is really shown
during his conversation with the police officer. He battles him self and he
knows whatever he says if going to affect either him or his gang. His loyalty
to his gang gets him dumped in conflicts within his gang and other gangs, he is
thrown into conflicts that can get him killed but he does them anyway because
he knows it’s the right thing to do he always goes with what he feels is right
no matter what the consequences or dangers . The book gives you the message “to
always do what you feel is right”
The author of Ink Me showed the central ideas of the
story very well. He presented the central idea clearly and knowledgeably, he
builds conflicts very well, and he really makes you want to keep reading to see
what is going to happen. The author overall showed great conflicts and a great
story in general. Ink Me was a really good book with a great story, I would
rate Ink Me 8/10 I usually don’t like books but I really liked this one and I
will most likely try to read the rest of books in this series.
Dear Nathan,
ReplyDeleteI really like how you did a great job giving a very detailed but brief summary of the book. I think that you’re summary really hooks the reader and tells you a lot about the book. A few things that I had a few questions about are, where does the book take place. I would really like it if you described the setting in more detail, and tell the reader at what point in time the book takes place. Overall, I think you’re book review was very successful.

Luke Allan
Dear Nathan
ReplyDeleteYour book sound really good but i was just wandering: How did the boy know that his grandfather left him a task if he is dead.
Sincerely
Lucas Sezlik
Dear Lucas,
DeleteBunny knew because his grand father had a note for him that had the task in it, and in his grand father's will it also said to give the note to his 2 grand children.
Thanks, Nathan.
Dear Nathan,
ReplyDeleteGreat review, tell me more about Bunny, like what is his physical state like, I think this will help me understand more about the story.
Sincerely Matteo Gaussorgues.
Dear Matteo
DeleteBunny is tall and fat, but he is extremely fast. He is his gangs best fighter because of his speed with his hands.
Sincerely Nathan.
Dear Nathan,
ReplyDeleteVery interesting book review, but I was just wondering how did the grand father die.
Thanks,
Makyla
Dear Nathan
ReplyDeleteI liked your book review, and i wondered what did the tattoo look like? what colour was it?
Abdel
Dear Abdel,
DeleteThe tattoo was just the numbers 15 in a bold black with a candle at the end. The candle meant he killed someone to get into the gang and it also implies he has gone to prison, Bunny did neither of these so that is also another reason he gets confused.
Thanks Nathan.
Dear Nathan
ReplyDeleteYou mention a grandfather, who we know nothing about (Bunny probably does though), sending Bunny off to get a tattoo, getting him into troubles with gangs, put into life or death situations, and gang fights. Does Bunny ever mention a motive for doing this?
Sincerely, Connor
Dear Connor,
DeleteBunny's motive was mainly just he wanted to be shown as a man and make his grandfather proud.
Thanks Nathan.
Dear Nathan,
ReplyDeleteYou had a great book review and I did enjoy it. You had mentioned something about the boy fighting himself. How is the gang impacting his mental state, and is it affecting his social life or his regular life?
Sincerely,
Jai S. R.
